Council accidentally decorates children’s park with world’s deadliest flower.

Botanist Thomas Gudgeon was stunned to discover that South Lakeland District Council had unwittingly chosen one of the world’s deadliest flowers to brighten up the area around a park where children play.

Natives of the Amazon jungle use the plant to poison their arrow tips when hunting monkeys due to its extreme killing power. The monkey is dead before it hits the ground.

The plant known as monkshood or wolfsbane is as fatal for humans as it is animals. The unwitting coucil has immediately removed the deadly plants and apologised to the community.
